Introduction

Grandanés is a design studio for pet furniture and objects, based in Córdoba, Argentina. Its premise is simple: design for the ones who really run the house. Its first product is Vetra, a phenolic plywood bed conceived as a piece of design furniture.

About the project

The challenge was to build a brand with the personality of a design studio, but without its distance. Grandanés had to move between two worlds with opposite codes: design, and pets. The identity had to be serious about design and warm with people, and hold up across every touchpoint.

The project was developed end to end: visual identity, creative direction and product design. The hypothesis was to change the client: if pets are the ones who run the house, the brand speaks to them. That shift made it possible to talk about design with the confidence of a studio and the humor of anyone who lives with a dog, and it was distilled into the sign-off “Diseñamos para ellos.” — we design for them. Visually, a robust wordmark with organic details, the pairing of Halyard Display and Helvetica Now, and a palette of graphite, blue and brown give the brand an editorial, typographic character. The system extends to the packaging, the stickers, the printed pieces in each shipment and the Vetra launch campaign.
